Hi, I’m Emily—the photographer and writer behind Odisea, a photography-led publication devoted to the stories of place.
After more than 20 years in marketing, I began reshaping my life around travel, creativity, and a deeper connection to the world. A trip to Spain (and Portugal) in 2023 planted the first seed, and since then I’ve been rediscovering photography, returning to writing, and following a persistent pull toward living more intentionally within the places I inhabit.
Here, I share place-centered essays and reflections shaped by immersion rather than pre-planned itineraries. Through photography and visual storytelling, I honor culture, landscape, and the quiet moments of becoming—lingering with what gives a place its meaning. Late last year, I spent a month in Chile for a Nikon photography workshop and extended into Peru, using that time to deepen my craft and live into the life I’m building.
Next, I’m preparing for a move to Spain, where I’ll begin my first year abroad teaching English while continuing to grow my photography and storytelling work.
